APPLICATION NOTE
3D cell culture systems reveal drug efficacy that is undetectable in flat culture systems.
2D cell lines are poorly predictive and ineffective at detecting therapeutic responses
In this application note, we concluded that patient-derived organoids (PDOs) are a better predictive in vitro model of disease than 2D cancer cell lines. PDOs can be used to identify effects on stem cell populations following treatment with targeted compounds.
We also describe how multiparametric imaging analysis can offer more powerful quantification of response than single parameter readouts and how imaging analysis could improve high-throughput drug discovery pipelines and increase compound detection rates.
